What methods do you use in training?

At Bark & Co I adhere to the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) approach, using positive reinforcement to teach dogs what we want them to do rather than focusing on what we don't want. My training methods prioritize strengthening the bond between owner and dog and working with you to determine the dogs specific motivators in order to get the best out of the dog. While I primarily use positive reinforcement, I understand that not everyone can commit to the time and effort it requires, as it can take several years and lifelong management. If tools are necessary, I approach their use with great care, ensuring the welfare of the animal and suggesting them only when the client and dog have established a strong foundation using positive reinforcement. Proper tool use, in my view, stems from a solid bond between owner and dog.

What age should I start training my puppy?
It's ideal to start training your puppy as early as 8 weeks old. Early training helps to establish good behaviour patterns from the start.

How long is each training session?
Each training session typically lasts between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the specific needs of the dog and the training program.
